Remake of the 1988 horror flick by the same name. Sadly it looks like this is gonna be only horror flick possibly worth seeing this Halloween. Could be entertaining I guess, and I guarantee it will be better then watching them beat a dead horse in “Saw 3D”.
Your best bet is to just rent the original tho. If you’ve never seen it, it’s pretty good mindless horror. Definitely worth throwing on after you burn one.
The final installment to Skizzaz’s “Skullface Trinity” beat tape Series. The first two installments: Rise at Dusk and Freddy Vs. Jason are also available for free download. Also be on the look out for Skizzaz “Monster Theme Music” coming very soon… SkullCrack by Skizzaz Skulls
In the midst of the usual creepy/crawling children, remakes, low-budget series, torture porn, and cookie-cutter teen horror, ’09 looked to be another year of horror films lacking originality. However there was one film that gave me a glimmer of hope for the future of horror. “The House of the Devil” has a wonderful gritty feel reminiscent of late seventies/early eighties films and a concept that has been lost in modern horror, suspense. Although it is a good movie, it isn’t flawless. The movie does drag on a bit building up to the climax, and once the climax is reached it unfolds rather quickly leaving me somewhat unsatisfied. Even though I’m a “Friday the 13th” and “Halloween” fanatic, if I had to pick a must see horror film of ’09, it would have to be “The House of the Devil”. Keep in mind there wasn’t much competition tho, “The House of the Devil” is now available on DVD.
